Ancient Egyptian craftsmanship continues to thrive today. We will have the opportunity to learn about papyrus making, traditional carpet weaving and alabaster carving, Egyptian spice and aromatic oil production.

Observe the Esna Locks System on our Nile River journey.

Participate in lectures and discussions led by Ehab on ancient Egyptian life and culture to provide additional context so as to gain a deeper appreciation of the journey through the fertile Nile Valley and the Western Desert.​

Day 1: Independent Travel Day -Overnight flight to Cairo*

Day 2: Assistance with arrival and transfer to Cairo area hotel; Welcome Dinner (3-night Cairo hotel Stay, D)

Day 3: Guided tours - Step Pyramid Complex of Djoser. Learning Experience - Egypt Carpet Weaving School .(Cairo hotel; B)

Day 4: Guided tours - Giza Plateau including Pyramids and Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum. Free time at GEM to explore additional galleries. Learning experiences - Papryus Gallery. Lunch on own at GEM.
