Who knew a little sightseeing could lead to a travel buddy and a brilliant idea!!

Just as the COVID lockdowns lifted, I suffered a painful injury that sidelined my passion and excitement for planning trips and traveling for even more months. When my doctor gave the all clear at the end of February 2023, I knew I was going somewhere, anywhere away from Florida for Spring Break! As luck would have it I found a last minute trip to Egypt and convinced my friend Judi to go along with me.

Upon landing in Cairo, we met the other travelers and our tour guide - Ehab. While touring the temples and tombs of Egypt, Ehab and I learned we both found strong connections with the places we visit and want to share with others what we see and the things we do. After an amazing week, I returned to the States with Ehab's number in my cellphone and the idea that I would go back to Egypt one day.

And I did - from the chaotic charms of Cairo to the beautiful shores of the Red Sea. After several visits I was hooked on the modern and ancient treasures of Egypt. While visiting Cairo in January 2025, Ehab suggested that since I would be bored after retiring from my career in education in June, we should put our passions and talents together and create a travel agency where we organize and lead small groups tours in Egypt, giving travelers the personal touch that is missing in those big, cookie-cutter tours.  How thoughtful of him to not want me to suffer from retirement blues! Seriously, I loved the idea and started asking him questions as I could tell he had been thinking about the idea for some time. Sitting at our favorite coffee spot in Cairo drinking Egyptian coffees and sahlabs, we devised our business plan and shook hands on our new business venture - Osiris Dream Vacations.
